A new day for us all.

There are some exciting things taking place with DADS. We are preparing to move forward and plan to be open by mid 2009. I will be posting weekly, setting up a webpage and completing the 501c 3 process. Have a wonderful day. Elder Austin

THE MORE I LEARN OF THE ILLS OF THE NON-CUSTODIAL. I FIND THAT SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND INCARCERATION ARE OFTEN AT THE ROOT OF CHILD ABANDONMENT.
OFTEN THIS IS NOT THE DESIRE OF THE PARENT .THEY LACK KNOWLEDGE , RESOURCES AND SUPPORT TO END THE CYCLE OF ADDICTION. THE PASSING OF THE SMART ACT WOULD ALLOW THE COOK COUNTY DRUG SCHOOL TO BE USED STATEWIDE. THIS BILL IS JUST ONE TOOL THAT COULD CHANGE THE LIFE OF A PARENT AND CHILD.

HELLO AGAIN DADS,
THINKING OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON . DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED AT HTE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU HAVE TO SPEND WITH THE CHILD(REN). REMEMBEER THIS IS ALSO A STRESSFUL TIME FOR THEM ALSO. tHEY HAVE THE PAINFUL TASK OF HAVING TO SPLIT TIME BETWEEN FAMILIES.PLEASE DON'T FORCE THEM INTO HAVING TO CHOOSE BETWEEN PARENTS/FAMILIES. AS A PARENT MAKE THE EFFORT TO WORKOUT A SCHEDULE WITH THE OTHER PARENT. HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING.

DEAR DADS AS THIS DAY APPROACHES ( POSSIBLY THE LAST VISIT BEFOR HOLLOWEEN). LET'S BE MINDFUL NOT TO ALLOW THE CHILDREN TO INDULGE IN TOO MUCH JUNK FOOD OR CANDY. WE MUST PROTECT THEIR HEALTH . ENJOY THE TIME WITH THE CHILDREN.

When a mother moves.

What can a father do if the mother moves leaving him with no contact with the child?
The non custodial father should file a motion and inform the court that the child has been moved and visitation has ceased. The court will then enter an order of disclosure to child support disburstment. They usually provide the address they are sending the payments to to the court.
The judge will likely continue the case and attempt to notify the mother of the next court date.
We have some fair and decent judges that will help the parties resolve these disputes.
